Xin chao, ban khoe khong? (Hello, how are you?)

My latest blog entries will be dominated by travel to Indonesia and more beaches in Vietnam...there is a lot of coastline to take in, and we aim to see it all!!

You will also get a glimpse of an International School. As much as I miss teaching in CA, it sure was nice not getting my yearly lay-off notice. Hey, who knows maybe by the time we get back to CA the money problems in education will be over...sure!!!

Enjoy all the sights.

Take in all of the beauty that is Asia.

Get a vision of peace in your mind and don't let it go. It's too important!!

A Muslim city, big show of force, kind of edgy!!

Snorkeling on the island of Sepa, Indonesia. One of the tiny islands in the archapelago called Pulau(Thousand Islands)

We had never seen more beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish. These two guys took us to a remote sandbar 10 mins off Sepa. I got bit by one of the local fish off the dock. I think people feed them there and he/she was expecting food as I swam up. Sorry dude!!

John and I spent two days on this beautiful island, the size of maybe two football fields.

My work as a teacher!

I began teaching in Vietnam in December 2009, at The British International School, Vietnam(BISV)-Ho Chi Minh City. I teach both Biology and PE to secondary and primary students. The academic language is English but the children speak Vietnamese when they are playing. So the majority of the students are from here and English is their second language. The school was opened by the HRH Duke of York in 1999. Note the cafeteria offering of both Asian and Western food choices.

Random bits of beauty in this tropical paradise!!
