Tet Celebration in Sai Gon

Ha Noi

The entrance to the infamous Ha Noi Hilton. John McCain's flight suit. A plaquard showing the violence done to the VN people at the hand of the French.

Ho Chi Minh's final resting place. He is still on display. Died in 1969.

Killing Fields. Phnom Penh, Cambodia

2 Million Cambodians were killed and thrown into the killing fields all over Cambodia. When it rains some of the bone fragments and teeth are unearthed. The killing went from 1975-1979.

Some of the Khmer Rouge are still on trial. Pol Pot, the leader was never punished.

People we met and toured with along the way...

Traditional Cambodian dancers. What happens when you drink "Scorpion Wine". A good meal. My mom teaching some local girls to speak English!

Bangkok

At the border between Cambodia and Thailand

Battambang, Cambodia

The Bamboo Train through rural Battambang. When we get to a train heading the other direction we just pick-up the train and and wait till it passes. Then put it back on the track again.

Tet-Trung-Thu:Mid Autumn Festival

Celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th Lunar month. (Sept.) This festival is a reward given to children at harvest time. Children who's parents have been toiling in the fields. Complete with dragon dances, animal art making and lanterns.

Hanging with the locals!

Our friend Wayne from So Cal trying out the local fare. We actually ate lunch at this infamous Noodle Shop. The pictures behind these two are the ancestors of this shop owner. The ancestors he was so proud to tell us were Viet Cong. This is where they sat to plan the Tet Offensive of 1968.

Recycling Sai Gon Style!!
